Kyoto Randomness

As the title says, a few items that are not quite categorically friendly. And I am trying to get all these images up so I can comment on them before thoughts slip from my aging brain.

Shinkansen on the way to Kyoto from Tokyo.

Japan is certainly not without its paradoxical ironies. You can not smoke on the streets in many areas so they have walled cubicles on the sidewalk where smokers can congregate to enjoy. BUT they do provide on the train an actual smoking room just next to the bathroom. There is absolutely no smoke around the area as the room takes care of it in a very efficient Japanese manner.

Ada posing in front of the smoking room - only two at a time please - and well used even though there are obvious attempts by Japanese society to cut back, many still partake.

Out the window of the bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto.

Fuji San rising above the Kanto plain.

It is only about 60 miles or so southwest of Tokyo - neat to see - tallest volcano and peak in Japan 12,400 ft

We stayed in a great location in Kyoto. I think it was called the Traveler's Inn. Definite perk was the onsen in the downstairs part of the hotel. Enjoyed it nightly.

Girls in the yukata's provided by the hotel. I think Emmerson is holding a cup of tea for effect. On the way to the onsen.
