August 2020 Kittens and Chicago

Another summer trip downtown with the girls. Took the train, again no charge - coron related no doubt but not sure why .... This time after the hotdog place we opted for a stroll to the lake.

All of a sudden, Emmerson jumped in the Lake with all her colthes on .... Ada did NOT approve of this. She was really salty with Emmerson emphasizing that it was not appropriate - pretty funny. So she had a wet train ride home.

What? Do not know what this is but of course the girls dutifully posed - they just do it now to get it over with.

Emmerson's head gear. Her hair is quite short now but it was still in full flow this summer.

I can't recall what promted this trip to the vet with Neko. But it did end with the vet saying that Neko was very over weight and needed to go on a diet. We had noticed he had become quite the chunk and rather listless - primarily because he was huge. So he went on to an all wet food diet. Apparently the dry food is full of carbs. The thing is, he loves the dry food so he would eat Po's as we are still feeding her a mix of wet and dry. So we had to separate their feeding areas. Po, being Po, always leaves a bit of the dry in her food so that when we releas Neko from his feeding area, he can go and have a few pellets of the dry. He acts like its Christmas everytime he gest to do this .... twice a day, everyday. Oh Neko Kun - quite the thug cat.

Po kind of dabbing.

Thug kitty excelling at one of the things he does very well.

Lots of kittie posts - not much going on these days regards of the corona.

Random spicy Thai noodles that I thru together - doing a lot of that these days ...

July 2020 End of the Month Randomness

July 2020 China Town with the Girls

We were able to get out and about a bit this summer. One of the things we very much enjoy is taking the train downtown and going to different places. Here we are all masked up and social distancing with other passengers. And bonus, the conductors were not taking tickets so free ride!

Pretty much every trip downtown starts with a walk from Ogilvie train station to the fasttrack Hotdog place.

Ada masked up again and working that phone on the L to Chinatown.

Cool frieze outside the Chinatown stop L station. Emmerson in her typical sun eye shade pose.

We typically get a rolled ice cream at the Tasty Legend House. Take out only in all the restaurants - things were pretty locked down at this stage.  Mission accompished - Ada unmasked and ready to have at it.

In the main square they have statues relating to the Chinese "year of the critter relating to when you were born" thing  - I guess it's a zodiac. It goes by years not months. I am a horse, Emmerson is a rooster, and Ada is a pig!

July 2020 Randomness: Fire Golf, Corona, Kitties

Neko - staring out the mail slot hoping something will happen. Po looking alert and crazy as ever.

Poo Neko ....

As if golf isn't difficult enough already - let's throw in a fire hazard on the fairway. I went golfing with a few gents from school at a rather unique course that weaves 18 holes thru the dense neighborhoods of Evanston.  On one of the holes some environmentally minded Evanstonians were doing their civic duty clearing the invasive buckthorn and had an impressive bonfire going. I've had to deal with vicious monkeys on a fairway but never fire! Here is Vandy showing us the way!

Loris focused and addressing the issue.

All sorts of random oddities caused by the corona. One day, Loris, the above fellow navigating the fire, asked us at soccer practice if any of us had some quarters he could borrow. He lives downtown and needed quarters to wash his clothes at the laundromat but their apparently was a shortage of change as no one has been out and about spending money. Later that weekend, I cam across this sign at Home Depot.

February 2021: Update

Oh my - been a while. I feel like I am in Goundhog Day with the corona virus - same thing everyday without a whole lot of things to do to break the cycle - days blend into weeks, weeks into months and all of a sudden it is February 2021!

There is not a whole lot to document but will punt some photos into a few posts.

Its been a cold and snowy February for sure - single digits for days, snowing off and on daily - about ten inches on the ground.
