Big gomi day was always a highlight of my time in Japan. Once a month it was encouraged to purge your house/apartment of "outdated" appliances and such to make new for the most recent and more socially acceptable items. But most of these electronics, appliances, furniture and such were full on fine for my post college, bachelor US mindset. So a few of us would jump into my van early on the morn of big gomi day and make the rounds. This is as close as it comes to this exciting day in Japan - basically throw out whatever in your house that you no longer want. Lots out on the curb. We took full advantage of it as we had just moved. A few photos of the day. Obviously very much appreciated by certain folk in the community, especially those involved in the recycling/refurbishing industries.

AYSO "Spring" Soccer and a Few More Items
Both girls do AYSO - early saturday mornings. Quite a chilly spring this year, especially at 8 it the a.m.
Ada in a pregame huddle. She loves the social aspect of this sport and has learned quite a bit about how to play, team work, etc.
Emmerson not so much into the photos these days but I can still get a smile and a pose now and then. Emmerson is a natural striker - just seems to have that knack for being around the goal at the right time. No where near travel team caliber at this point but don't care - she is good, enjoys it and wants to keep playing. Next year - boys and girls mixed at her age - should be interesting.
Spring my a*&(^%&*. Freaking COLD - this is the coat I only bust out when it is VERY vold out because it is so puffy. But just sitting down for an hour in cold temps definitely appreciate the puffy coat.
Bring your kids to school day at New Trier. Last time for Emmerson. They both love it and NT does a nice job. I opted out geopardy and had quite a few participants.
In my office commandeering the communal table.
Neko being Neko.
Found a Mexican supermarket down the road from our house - full on authentic and one of my favorite treats well in house - one version of chicharon on display at the deli.
Bit More Moving and Randomness
So the time line is way off on these more recent posts and many of the previous. I tend to do them in chunks when I have some time to sit down and go thru and organize. It is now July of 2017 and I will be posting back thru april of 2017. The below are from the end of March and beginning of April.
Po making sure she is still in control and not left behind in the move. While Neko is a "bit" more laid back, Po is very much involved and seems to be rather control minded and quite paranoid. We have a theory about this that we like to talk about and I will share at some time for posterity sake for the girls.
Apparently a video most likely Ada made of Po being control minded and paranoid.
Nana is what the girls cal my mom so this was neat to find. Hot dogs I believe were grilled and not really classic Chicago how we have come to like them - but still neat place.
My artsy picture of a tree as we were moving out.
And apparently another video??
Po monitoring the move - literally right in the thick of it.

Random Move Time
Apparently we did do somethings besides moving during the move time ... doesn't seem that way but the pictures depict otherwise.
Alicia and I managed to get out and have an evening together. We ended the evening in this dive looking institute on the main drag in Elmhurst that includes a bowling alley, pool tables, bar, restaurant, live entertainment and it was absolutely rocking - still divish but a good time.
PO
Po - still at the Myrtle house.
Ada is quite into the media arts - actually just likes taking pictures of her stuff and making videos of her stuff. She will actually pretend to make videos without an electronic device because she does not have one that is functioning. She has collected all of our old dysfunctional ones and uses those.
